Matalyn turned a lifetime interest in writing to working as a photo-journalist after retiring from a career with Dallas Water Utilities--finding a new interest in photography. After moving to her home on the East Verde River north of Payson, she spent her free time with camera in hand, enjoying and documenting the life and beauty of the landscape and wildlife in the area. Matalyn's desire is to portray the excitement and love of life that comes from being surrounded by the beauty of the land and the people.
